The Lawrence County Community Development Association (LCCDA) is the county’s development arm. Funded primarily by appropriation from the Board of Supervisors, the Association seeks to increase job opportunities and assist existing businesses in retaining existing jobs. The LCCDA office is located on the third floor of the Lawrence County Courthouse in downtown Monticello, MS.
The LCCDA operates through a fourteen member board of directors. Each of the five county supervisors appoints a board member; three members are appointed by the Lawrence County Chamber Board of Directors; three members are appointed at-large; and each of the three towns in the county are represented. The board is responsible for hiring a president and CEO to manage the day-to-day operations of the LCCDA. The members offer a varied background to support the development efforts.
